Carnage here in North America truly ferocious; I've read some estimates of 100,000 mammals dying on any given summer's night on the roads of Canada and the USA.
Have things changed in the UK over last few decades? Seems to me the authorities used to be very diligent about picking up roadkill quickly; perhaps that service was a victim of some round of cutbacks.

Thank you very much. All of these images were taken with stills cameras and the zoom effect added later during editing in soundslides.
I think most of us don't want to look closely at roadkill but the scale of the carnage is awesome.
